When I was a kid I sent a letter to Disney Animation asking what I should do in middle school to become an animator. In my disbelief I received a hand written letter and a packet with portfolio instructions. I knew when I was a kid the only thing I wanted to be was an animator.
However, Life happens.
When I reached college age I was discouraged by many people not to pursue 2d animation “It’s a dying art.” I followed the advice of more knowledgeable people in my life. Fast forward to today, I am on the artist’s journey. Life is short and should be focused on things you love. The art of animation gets me excited! When I see great art it makes me want to drop everything I’m doing and start drawing. Although I haven’t held an artist position, it is my current goal, and I know with my drive and skills I will get there.
Life is a journey and we learn as we go but my passion has brought me back to art consistently!
